Flooding Is Not Covered Under Your Homeowners Policy!!

Here is an irrefutable fact:  Flooding can occur ANYWHERE.  All it takes is too much moisture on already-saturated ground.

Here is another irrefutable fact:  Flooding is NOT covered under your homeowners policy!  Damage from floodwaters is specifically excluded on all homeowners policies.  This coverage must be purchased under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  The same can be said for business insurance; on all commercial property policies, damages from floodwaters are excluded.  Again, business owners must turn to NFIP for coverage for this very real peril.  To learn more about the NFIP program, please click here.

If you've purchased a home or business lately that resides in a flood plain, you already have a flood insurance policy (provided you had to take out a mortgage).  Lenders will not approve a mortgage for a property in a flood zone without flood insurance.  But if you bought your home decades ago, you probably don't have this protection.  Because flooding occurs in all 50 states, this insurance is VITAL!  At Figley-Salz, we can broker flood insurance.  For a quote--or to learn more--call us today!
