Finally, you've saved enough money to take that dream vacation:  A golfing excursion at a faraway, exotic locale.  You're playing your first round, getting ready to tee off on the fifth hole.  It's a gorgeous par 4, bordered by several elegant retirement homes.  You hit your drive--and YIKES!--your ball slices severely right, and to your utter horror, it shatters a nearby front window.  Is it time to shell out some cash to the irritated and annoyed owner of that window?  Here's another question.  Are you a homeowner?  If so, the answer is NO!

Homeowners policies contain what is called personal liability.  This covers property damage and/or bodily injury to a third party as a result of your negligence.  The limits of insurance per occurrence vary, most likely either $100,000 or $300,000.  Here's a rule of thumb:  The more assets you have, the higher personal liability limit you should buy.  And here's the best part:  on most homeowners policies, personal liability follows you no matter where you are, anywhere in the world!  So if that dapper young man in Paris trips over your tossed luggage and injures his back, relax; you're covered!

Not only homeowners have personal liability; renters can access this protection, too.  But with most renters policies, you have to ask for this coverage.  Leave nothing to chance:  Ask for personal liability!  It can prove to be valuable protection, leading to utmost peace of mind.
